What is Mitigation?

The definition of mitigation is "to lessen," in our case  mitigation lessens damage. Insurance companies require property owners to mitigate losses quickly. Here are a few steps to help lessen the damage until help arrives.

1. Turn off the water to stop the leaking.
2. Mop up or blot water as much as possible.
3. Remove wet items from flooring and hang to dry.
4. Call a mitigation company to start the mitigation process.
